It’s The Year 2029

I know you are coming to terms with the new-ish year, and are realising that only a couple of weeks ago, you were excited about the opportunity, and potential, that 2019 has to offer. Hopefully you are hanging on hard to some of that excitement.

And now I am fast forwarding you to 2029? Hang on, slow down a moment…..

We are going that far ahead because I want you to think about what you can achieve in the next 10 years, while you are still excited about this year, and before life and normality kick back in. I also want you to think about what you may regret not having achieved over the previous 10 years. Don’t stay in regret too long, as I want you to focus on the possibilities of the next 10 years, rather than what has already been, but it serves as a great reminder for how quickly time passes us by.

How long have you been going to do certain things by, as in, change a job, write a book, start a business, play an instrument, live your purpose, etc, so remember that, but try flicking through this next list, and see what you might do in the next 10.

Do you want to be in the same job, same company, will you have written a book, started a business, started a family, made your first million $$, made 10 million $$, travelled the world, become a key note speaker, started a band, toured with the band, become an expert in ??,  established a charity, inspired millions, inspired one, moved state, moved country, bought a farm, moved to the beach, run a marathon, sailed the world, live in solitude, become a monk…

Ok so the list is endless, and the potential of your next ten years is unlimited. Start writing your own and see what comes out. Some of it might seem ridiculous, and some may excite you, but this is about planting the seeds of possibility on how you might start planning a life you want to live.

And when you write your own list, or start dreaming about what you can achieve, be careful who you share it with. To tell someone you are going to become a keynote speaker, or start a business, become a monk, may sound completely ‘batshit’ crazy from your current place. Don’t let them stop you from dreaming and put out the potential of you becoming any of those things, before you have even started. You have the potential to inspire millions, but your dreams and aspirations will be very different to your friends and work colleagues, so keep them held tight, just for the moment.

The year ahead is a great place to start, and is the first step to becoming, or doing, or changing your life in a huge way. You can be an expert in almost anything in 10 years, but you will never know, if you don’t take the first step.

Here’s to the year ahead for you, and to your next 10 years in becoming the person that you want to be.
